Jill Shonka, DDS

Dr. Jill’s roots run deep in Colorado. Growing up in Parker with her brother, Christian, and her sister, Maggie (our Office Manager), she developed a lifelong passion for community and care.

Education & Expertise
Dr. Jill began her academic journey at Colorado State University, where she earned a degree in Psychology. She then moved to the University of Iowa for dental school, graduating with honors. Her dedication to children’s health led her to stay in Iowa to complete her specialized residency in Pediatric Dentistry.

The Heart of Windsor Pediatric Dentistry
Fifteen years ago, Dr. Jill and Maggie realized their dream of opening Windsor Pediatric Dentistry (WPD). Starting with just three staff members, the practice has flourished alongside the Windsor community.

Dr. Jill’s philosophy is built on three pillars:

  • Comfort for All Ages: Creating a family-friendly environment where children and teens feel safe and at ease.
  • Preventative Care: A strong emphasis on education to ensure a lifetime of healthy smiles.
  • Collaborative Treatment: Listening closely to both parents and patients to ensure the best long-term outcomes for a child’s permanent teeth.

Service & Leadership
Giving back is a cornerstone of Dr. Jill’s career. She provides volunteer dental services to His Little Feet, a non-profit that brings orphaned children to the U.S. to learn English and travel the country to increase global awareness of orphanages and the needs of orphans worldwide.

Within the dental profession, she is a leader in advocacy, serving on the Colorado Dental Association’s Board of Trustees since 2019 and actively participating in the Weld County Dental Society and the CDA Medicaid Task Force.

Life Outside the Office
At home, Dr. Jill is a devoted “sports parent.” Married to her high school sweetheart, John, since 2005, she spends much of her free time driving her two children, Kelly and Elise, to their various sporting events. When she isn’t at the office or on the sidelines, you’ll find her enjoying the Colorado outdoors—hiking, camping, and spending time with her animals.
