Macaira Leahy, DDS

Dr. Macaira “Mac” Leahy is a specialty-trained in pediatric dentistry and is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mac grew up in Wisconsin, Saskatchewan, and eastern Iowa. She attended the University of Iowa for all of her education – Go Hawks! – She earned her B.A. in Health and Human Physiology in 2014 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2018. During her undergraduate and dental school years, she was especially passionate about volunteering and working for the Ronald McDonald House Charities where she connected with children living with special healthcare needs as well as their families. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Mac worked for three years as a general dentist for a community health center in Southeastern Iowa and it was there she realized she felt most passionate while working with kids and individuals with special healthcare needs. She decided to pursue specialized training in pediatric dentistry to better serve these patients. Back at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, she completed her two year residency training and earned her certificate in pediatric dentistry in 2023. She earned board certification in 2024 and continues to pursue education in order to provide research-based and updated care for her patients.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association®, the Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Colorado Dental Association and the Weld County Dental Society.

Dr. Mac loves to work with children of all abilities and comfort levels in the dental chair. Her goal is to help make each child’s experience as easy and as fun as possible while working toward improving their oral health and education.

Dr. Mac loves traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She and her partner Connor love to camp and ski and are very excited to have made northern Colorado their home!
